The verified Striver construction
CAT describes Striver Steel Toe with full-grain leather, a slip-resistant rubber outsole and an engineered foam footbed. Its official page also identifies EH protection. These are useful model facts, but the manufacturer’s broad language about traction should not be read as a guarantee across every terrain or contaminant. Match the exact boot and its markings to the workplace requirement.
The important waterproof distinction
The selected title says Striver Steel Toe Industrial Boot, Brown, 8. It does not say waterproof. CAT’s separate Striver Waterproof product page establishes that there is another version, not that all Strivers exclude water. If rain, wet vegetation or repeated puddles drive the purchase, obtain the exact waterproof style rather than assuming a brown leather upper settles the issue.
How this size fits the comparison
Wheelbase Clay 8.5 is nearby numerically, but its Chelsea opening changes the way the foot enters and stays held. Tan Second Shift 9 Wide introduces a different length and explicit width. These links can help compare model direction; neither should replace the size-8 Striver solely because stock or price is attractive.
For a first comparison, identify what makes the current boot unsuitable: the entry style, a specific pressure point or a missing job feature. Striver’s model name does not resolve those questions by itself, and its foam footbed is not a reason to disregard a poor match around the protected forefoot.
