Women’s construction is documented here
Timberland’s official women’s Intercept page explicitly describes a women-specific last. That is stronger evidence than merely seeing women in a seller title, although it still does not tell you that the shape suits every woman. The family page also identifies a steel toe and an EH designation. Match the selected Sage/White style to its documentation rather than borrowing the men’s size chart.
Sage/White 8M versus Grey 8.5M
The related Medium Grey Ripstop listing is women’s 8.5 M US, so it changes length as well as color. It is not a like-for-like color replacement for this 8M. If size 8 is already correct, search for that size in the desired color; moving half a size only to change appearance may alter heel hold and where the foot meets the protective front.
Deciding whether a low shoe is enough
An Intercept can be investigated for work that permits an athletic low cut. Its lower collar should not be treated as a substitute for a required boot height. The manufacturer’s women’s page describes a ripstop upper and flexible EVA sole, but those construction details are not a guarantee against sharp debris, liquids or every workplace contaminant.
If your old work shoe was a converted men’s size, use the women’s chart directly instead of carrying a generic numerical offset into this purchase. Compare the heel and instep relationship as well as the length: a documented women’s last is a starting point for fitting, not the end of it.
