Why compare a MetMAX with a plain steel toe
A toe cap protects the front of the foot; metatarsal protection addresses the area farther back over the top of the foot. That is the meaningful reason to consider a MetMAX rather than another standard rain boot when a workplace requires additional impact protection.
Dunlop’s manufacturer brochure identifies an Acifort MetMAX model, MZ2LE02. The retailer title here does not provide that code, so confirm it on the pair being sold before applying a brochure specification. Regional versions and similar names are not interchangeable evidence of US workplace compliance.
Fit includes the top of the foot
Try the size-9 selection with your normal socks and check the instep during a crouch or step. Added protection over that area should not create a pressure point when the foot bends. The protective parts also need to stay positioned as you walk, which makes heel retention important in a pull-on.
Do not enlarge the size solely to escape instep pressure without checking what that does to toe alignment and heel movement. Another model shape can be more appropriate than extra length.
Verify the complete requirement
If the job calls for metatarsal, underfoot puncture or electrical-hazard protection, check every required marking on the supplied boots. Neither the MetMAX name nor a steel component establishes the full combination by itself. This is a safety-selection comparison, not an independent impact test of the listed ASIN. For simpler splash exposure without a metatarsal requirement, the Chesapeake is a different and more basic format to compare.
